Benefacts Who Funds What (Beta*)

Who Funds What was released as a beta webservice by Benefacts in September 2020.

Who Funds What provides a single point of access to reported State funding for nearly 3,000 Irish nonprofit companies.

The data comes from the currently available disclosures of 9 Government departments and State bodies and relates to funding provided in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

In November we updated spending decisions under the Community Support Programme, harvested from the press releases of the Department of Rural and Community Development. In January we added new data about the 5 schemes including Youth Justice Interventions and Funding for Services to Victims of Crime, provided directly to us by the Department of Justice.

Now that Benefacts Who Funds What (Beta) has been available to public officials and representatives as a proof of concept project for three months, we are evaluating its impact. Users are being invited to share their views of the site, and we will prepare a report based on their feedback.

* Beta Version – 1.0 was released on the 17th September 2020.

Updates were added on the 4th of November 2020 and on the 29th of January 2021.
